Coke-quenching car is designed for receipt of hot coke from coke oven
Coke-quenching car is designed for receipt of hot coke from coke oven, its transportation to wet quenching tower and transferring/discharging of cooled coke on to coke wharf.
Quenching of hot coke in coke-quenching cars shall be done traditionally by means of water spraying on coke from above. Quenching of hot coke in coke-quenching cars shown shall be done as combination of both water spraying on coke from above and through receiving pipes into the bottom part of the car body under coke layer.
Water for coke quenching shall be delivered into the car body as combination of two manners: through the bottom under coke layer and with water spraying from above. Coke-quenching car shall be moved with electric locomotive. Brakes, gates, receiving pipes and car body inclination shall be controlled from locomotive cabin. Coke-quenching car shall be equipped with electric alarm that permits to control mechanisms as well as accurate positioning of the car under coke guide cage.
Lubrication of bearings/axle boxes shall be done with grease periodically. With its trail at the coke side of the oven, a coke quenching car is used to convery the coke from the carbonization chamber to the coke quenching tower and have the quenched coke unloaded to coke wharf.
